How long did it take to get to your neck of the woods?

Hey guys,

Sunday - I ordered 2 Sound Detectors (SEN-12642 In stock). From the tracking, it looks like it didn't get to the USPS facility until late Wednesday (11:16PM) and finally left USPS's Aurora Colorado facility today (Thursday).

What gives?

Hey! I'm sorry your package was delayed in leaving our facility. USPS First Class packages usually take 2 business days to get out, but sometimes that timeframe gets stretched if we had a particularly heavy volume come in over the weekend. Your package is definitely on its way.

I'd be happy to get your shipping charge refunded for the delay. Just email cservice@sparkfun.com with your order number and reference this post and we'll get you taken care of.

Again, sorry for the delay.

Thanks,
Paul

Thanks Paul,

Hmm, I guess I expect it to ship the next business day. A few days with an individual seller on eBay maybe. But with an internet-business, you gotta start wondering if maybe they're getting in trouble and cutting back on employees. That or they just don't see getting the stuff to their customers as a priority.

Anyway, thanks for the offer to refund the shipping - I do appreciate it!

I can tell you that when I order items, SF usually as them shipped within 48 hrs. You never know what is happening behind the scenes. Maybe an employee called in sick or maybe he/she quit... You just never know. But, It's awesome of them for offering to give a refund for shipping. I bet no one else will do that.

Nice job Paul!

I think 24 hours (excluding weekends and holidays) really should be the standard. It's just frustrating that now, almost exactly 24 hours after I place my own order, it hasn't even entered the picking stage. But the shipping policy does clearly state same-day shipping does not apply to the 3-11 business day option, so there's that.
