Hi there

I have a 3V coin battery that I want to connect directly to Vcc of AVR microcontroller. The Operating Voltage of the AVR uController is 1.8-5.5 V.

However, is that a good or bad idea to connect the battery direclty to uCon.?

If it is bad idea, what is the best way to connect them? Thanks

that would be fine if there would be no other sources connected to the battery (like a charger)..

if you are concerned with the variations of the voltage in a battery as it discharges try to connect a simple boost converter which may be found on the net..but if voltage variation is not that critical, it's totally fine..
