Hi All,

Is it possible to create a 'device' using a 'symbol' with 3 pins, and a 'package' with 4 terminals? The part I wish to create is a linear voltage regulator in a SOT223 package with an 'In', a 'Gnd', and two 'Out' pins (one of the leads, and the 'tab'). I know I can add another pin to my symbol and all will be good, but I'd prefer not to have to do it this way. When I 'Connect' the symbol pins to the package terminals, I obviously want the Out pin on the symbol connected to both Out terminals on the package!

You connect them within the device window just like connecting any other pin, just click on the pins that are already connected, then click the third pin, press connect.

Ah! Excellent, that worked like a charm! Until now I never knew it was so easy in Eagle to connect multiple package terminals to one symbol pin! Sweet!
