what are the pros and cons of leaded and lead free solder. the reason i ask is that i have some lead free solder and it doesn't solder well some times. i'm thinking i'd like to go back to leaded stuff.

I always use solder with lead just for that reason.

If you are designing a commercial product and want it to be ROHS compliant then you would need to use lead free solder.

How hot is your iron?

For unleaded it needs to be hotter.
Other than that there have actually been few cons.....
