Questions relating to designing PCBs

Hi all:

How would a USB host connector, with tabs that fold under (please see http://www.usa-assmann.com/Specs/AU-Y1006-R.pdf), typically be handled for BatchPCB/gold phoenix?

The recommended footprint looks to have a small 0.6mm radius, 3mm long route -- but I don't think gold phoenix will do internal routes such as these? Should I use just a 3mm drill hole?

thanks,

I had a similar challenge with PCB mounted slide switches
that require a pair of slotted holes. I modified the footprint
to use a chain of small holes (diameter equal to 1.1 times
the desired slot width). BatchPCB/GP did a great job!

Some board houses reject chain drilling as it can damage
their drills and cause production stoppages.

Thanks -- I had the same thought about damaging their bits with repeated hits -- if it would even work at all. How far do you space your repeat hits?

33% to 50%. 50% seems to work well and has fewer hits
per slot.

What is your first name?
