Multiple FPGAs with attached SPI flashes in one JTAG chain

I have a board with several Xilinx Spartan-6 FPGAs connected into a single JTAG chain. Each FPGA has a configuration SPI flash attached to it. Would OpenOCD be able to access these SPI flashes and program them? I.e. does the current code and Xilinx FPGA bitstreams support programming SPI flashes when there is more that one TAP in the JTAG chain?
