GPS Logger with EB-85A

Is there any problems with hooking up the EB-85A to the GPS Logger V2.4

The descripton reads:
v2.4 logs NMEA 0183 sentences to a standard SD card
Does this mean that as long as there is a NMEA going into it (regardless of GPS) It will work??

If so, is it possible to buy without the EM-406, I already have lots of them, don't need more.

I was looking at the same thing, and was interested in the higher sample rate and accuracy,

Would be very interested to see if it is actually possible
