I have installed a MAX3232 and attached the GPS unit to a serial port (com1) of my computer, also, i have placed an SMA connector on the antenna input of the GPS Unit to connect an external Active antenna. I am receiving the output from the GPS unit on my pc and after a short period of time it picks up numerous satellites and calculates my position. Great!
Now i would like to send commands from my PC to my gps device. I can confirm that when i use the broadcast command function in teraterm my data is being sent to the gps unit because i have checked the RX pin using an oscilloscope.
But the commands dont seem to be registering. I get no output and even when i try to turn debug on, nothing happens.
Anyone have any ideas?
