Hi

Forgive for my English.

In my project I connect GPS EM-406, mC AVR (M16) and radio modul RC1240.
I would like Use Li battery as power supply via 3.3 LDO regulator, but voltage for EM-406 is 4.5-6.5 V.
On the back side of board EM-406 is built in voltage regulator (3.3V).
If I bypass this regulator, I can connect EM-406 to external
3.3v regulator.
That you think of my idea?

You could use a suitable boost converter to get 5V from the battery, Maxim makes them.

For what it's worth, I haven't had any problems powering mine directly from 3.3v.
