best GPS for sparkfun o-clock

I'm a newbee trying to put together a Sparkfun o-clock with a GPS time source. What is the best GPS source for this purpose? Will the Venus board work with a simple RS-232 connection?

Pick whatever your wallet can stand. Design it well and you'll only need the GPS for the occasional update, refreshing/updating an onboard RTC, rather than absolute time every time.
