Hi!
In the datasheet and in the binary comand set there is mentioned a power save or low power acquisition mode. The datasheet is not very specific about it neither is the comand set.

Can anyone share some details about the differences of the two modes?

I asked Skytraq directly via E-Mail. They were very helpful, even sent me a graph with the powerconsumption in the two modes. Anyhow they don't want me to post it here. If you want to have it write to them yourself.
The two modes only vary during acquisition (as "low power acquisition mode" implies). In the low power mode the antenna is powered with full power for a shorter time. Therefore less power is used but acquisition will take a longer time. Skytraq doesn't give specific data on the values. I think that's because they vary depending on the surrounding conditions.
