I'm working with the LAIPAC UV-40 GPS, and when i'm running it in hyperterminal I get an update everysecond, but none of the data changes. I've run this in different areas, but the data is all the same.
Any ideas on whats wrong/how to fix this??

It might help to copy an example of one of those unchanging data frames. The problem could be that you're never acquiring any satellites, so the GPS is just telling you that over and over (and thus the message never changes).

If that unit has an external antenna, make sure the antenna is connected securely. Then try moving your setup close to a window (or better yet outside with an unobstructed view of the sky) and leaving it there, powered for a few minutes.
