Here is a picture of my GPS prototype using the u-blox LEA-4A module:
The MCU is a PIC 16F88, and the other connector is for a Siemens MC55 GSM module. The application is a very small battery powered tracking system, with the boards stacked vertically. I think I can get down to something like a 3 cm cube.
The PCBs were made at home, BTW.
