hi

i have Trimble Lassen iQ GPS(with Rs-232 Eval Kit) , when i connect it with computer thourgh Hyper Terminal, it shows no data but blank $GGA and $VTG sentences like
this
$GPGGA,,,,,,0,0.000,,,,,,*30

Even though i have already connected the antenna .
I am doing all this in a room, not in open space.

Anybody can tell what may have gone wrong ?
Moreover , how can i change it to receive RMC sentence (using iQ Monitor)

try doing it outside, and leaving it running for a while. The trimble isn't as sensitive as some other GPS modules, so it will have some trouble indoors.

as long as the lassen iq has no actual almanach data and a few sattellites in view, it will only give invalid nmea packets. when the module is doing a fix, the meassage will turn over to correct time,position and so on...
But you can help your module with the iq_monitor.
give him actual time and position will help to get the position a little faster.
