If I'm reading it it seems from the GPGSV that it can see 12 satellites. But I can not get any real data out of it. I've noticed that the date is listed as 280606 so I am wondering if there is a reset or way for it to correct itself. Not sure if it having the wrong date is an issue. Or am I reading this stuff all wrong?

Like stated in the title this was working just fine for months. Now nothing. I'm worried the part may have died...but if it died would I still be getting the data I posted?

Any and all help is appreciated! This is for a school project and is a major grade. Thanks.

Firstly I am no expert! But I have also had some issues with the SUP500. I think the GPGSV does not give you an indication of the satellites it is "talking/listening" to. In fact, I seem to recall that when mine was not locked, it still "remembered" the satellites that it was locked on to previously. In my case I could break the satellite lock by sampling above 2Hz (faulty module). Unfortunately I can't tell you if my GSV information looked similar to yours.

Your GPGGA information indicates that there is no position fix, and it is not using any satellites. The date, 2006-06-28, is the default date. This implies it is a completely cold start. I didn't have a backup battery, so every time I powered down, it would restart in this condition.

Have you tried using SkyTraq to do a warm start? You can enter the date and your rough position, to help the GPS figure out where it is. You can also do an AGPS download, which will give it reasonably up-to-date almanac information. That might help it get a fix. What rate are you sampling at? I had issues just like this above 2Hz.

Thanks for your reply. I believe it's been having issues getting a signal due to heavy overcast. I currently working on seeing how to send it current date and time so that it may help it track the satellites quicker. Currently it takes forever from a cold start to begin tracking.
