I'm talking about the 5-pin smd controlling the 2.8v supply to the max3232.

I 'think' it is a Micrel 5205 but I can't find any info on what it is - the schematic doesn't seem to mention a part number as far as I can tell.

I think I might have damaged mine as I have no 2.8v on max3232 chip but I have a 3.8 from the 29302.

If I can find out what it is I can swap it out and see if everything else is ok.

If anyone knows please let me know.

Yes, you're right, the 5-pin smd controlling the 2.8v supply is a micrel mic5205.
This is a 3V3 ldo regulator. More info here:
