I'm looking to interface an Xbee to the Geochron hardware-- I notice there's a line of connections on the board, including "TXD0" and "RXD0".

There's no published schematic for the Geochron, but from the GCBlue, it looks like RXD0 should have the data coming off the GPS module?

If this is true, is the module running at 4800bps, or some other speed?

Easy enough -- RXD0 isn't the GPS output (but probably could be modified in software to be just the selected strings: hint hint)

Regardless, the GPS module is outputting at 4800bps on its TX pin, so you can splice the transmitter in that way.
