Looking to build a very simple GPS logger. I am obviously considering the GeoChron, but i think its kind of pathetic its classified 'Field-hardened' yet not water proof.
Im also thinking I might be able to 1-up sparkfun on battery life, as that is what is most important to me when I am out hiking.
My Garmin handheld gets better battery life than the GeoCron, and it only takes 2 AA battries and has a full colour screen and a list of features to long to list. What are they using, and why cant i use it?
Any recommendations on GPS chips with low power draw?
