Tips and questions relating to the GPS modules from SFE

Hi am contemplating developing a little prototype device based on GM862 module. I would like to power the module completely by solar energy.

I am researching options how I can have a lithium battery that powers the devices automatically charged up by a solar panel. I am looking for some ready made solution for this kind of application, i.e. i just want a power unit that manages its re-charging internally and i can treat it as if it was a battery. The device wont be much more than the GM862 module, so it just needs to support the power requirements of GM862.

Does anybody have any suggestions?

I came accross this board, i am not convinced it would do the job though

Would you recommend hacking on something like solio?

There must be some ready made solution for this kind of application.

Any advice would be much appreciated

thanks
