Take the length, multiply by the height, and round *up* to the next inch.

Examples:

4.67x0.8" = 3.74 = 4 square inches

2.25x2.25" = 5.06 = 6 square inches (yes 6)

0.7x0.7" = 0.49 = 1 square inch minimum- (please email us about such a small PCB)
