My board keeps getting failed, what's wrong?

Post by Plecto » Sat Mar 23, 2013 4:16 pm

Hi. I'm very new to this. I've used eagle to generate the gerber files. I've followed a guide at youtube, set spacings and trace width to 8 mil and drill to 20mil and gotten eight gerber files (.sol .plc. .ncd .gpi .dri .cmp .sts .stc). I upload it on BatchPCB and I get to see my gerber files and they look correct (including the drill file even though it's set to "top copper" at default). I used the auto router so if eagle is doing it properly, all spaces and widths should be within the limits of the board house, but It keeps failing it. I get six files in an email bottom copper and 2x top copper (those are images) and three .txt files:

I have no idea of what these .txt files says though. Could anyone help me out?

I guess you're new to PCB design and layout world. It's a common practice to manually route a PCB because it not only helps you make sure that your schematic has been correctly translated but it also gives you options of customization. One simply cannot fully rely on Eagle to do everything. It's a free software which only helps you till a certain limit. The auto-routing of OrCAD is really great but again, it costs a lot. So you can perform auto-routing in Eagle but you need to verify the PCB layout completely as well.
