General suggestions or questions about the SparkFun Electronics website

I've ordered a bunch of stuff here, and it went very well! I'd like to make one additional recommendation, or maybe others found a good souce.

I'm interesting in getting Nichia LEDs. Nichia America sells them, but their prices are terrible unless you buy a thousand. I'm specifically interested in the NSTM515AS, RGB one. They sell for $9/ea, or $2 in quantity(!).

I see many PIC-related projects that use them, and I'd love to play around with larger quantities on the cheap.

Thanks!

Oops, wrong forum. Can it be moved to the new products one, thanks!

not that I want to discourage SparkFun from picking up new products, but check out LSDiodes, they sell RGB led's for $1.10 each (I don't know if they are the Nichia LEDs, but they're pretty cool).

LSDiodes is a really nice site! I've been contimplating RGB leds for a bit.

Is there any benefit to Nichia? $2 is a bit high.

While I don't have any of those cheap ones, I did get some from superbrightleds.com, which are about $1.69 ea. I have some from Nichia (at $5 ea), and they are both far brighter, more uniform in terms of output, and far more consistent between LEDs. Most of the pros use them, see this for a cool example:

I see the ones at LSDiodes.com are temporarily unavailable. I was thinking about trying a few out in order to compare them. For my uses, I prefer the milky lens, not clear.

Spec sheet for the Nichia ones is at:
