Force Sensitive Resistor - Small

Can the "Force Sensitive Resistor - Small" work as an on/off switch. Rather than measuring force can it just tell if force is being applied or not?
Not without additional circuitry, which would compare the "no force" resistance to the current resistance, and make a decision.
A simple comparator chip and a resistor network would work.
