lots of tutorials link to retired products; it'd be nice the their pages suggested a alternative product currently available.

Hi there! Do you have an example of a product where you'd like to see this? Most of our products do have replacements as we revise our boards frequently (as do other companies), so those will be linked in the notes. Sometimes we don't have a replacement, so we don't have something to refer you to.

Thanks! :)

fgnieveinski - we try to keep up on them, but some will inevitably slip through. Could you provide specific links you've found? We can get those fixed right away.

for example,
GPS-08234 (GPS Receiver - EM-408 SiRF III)
could suggest
GPS-12751 (GPS Receiver - EM-506)
perhaps warn the reader it may not be an exact replacement?

For the products themselves, we generally only make a suggestion if the new part is, or is close to, a drop-in replacement. We've found it better to let folks do their own research for what else will meet their needs, rather than potentially misleading them with something different.

But if a tutorial is linking to a retired part that has no listed replacement, we do need to fix it. We may redo it completely, or just note the retired part and make some suggestions on how to adapt. If you can find the offending tutorials, please let us know and we'll get them fixed right away.
