The TSOP1100 is a unique wideband 33 to 57 kHz receiver. It isn't in the product matrix on the Vishay website, and it isn't in the 11xx series spec sheet.

It is very sensitive and may have some glitches in the output if the remote is too close.
The Fairchild QSE156/7/8/9 is another unique part that provides a raw (not demodulated) signal. It works from a few inches to more than a foot depending on the power of the remote. Useful for determining the carrier frequency and high resolution capture for analysis.
