I just wanted to make a comment about soldering headers. If you already have a shield put together you can use it to keep the double tall female headers straight when soldering them to a new shield. I'll attach some pictures showing what I mean.

Adding the board they get soldered to. I find this keeps things in place for me.

Yeah, the same thing can be done with the stackable headers in a breadboard. However the headers wiggle ever so slightly given somewhat crooked solder joints. Better than doing it with no jig though.
