Changes in how "View new posts" work with new BB

Post by riden » Sat Apr 03, 2010 9:13 am

In the previous incarnation of the forum, I could click on the "View new posts" link and see only posts that have new posts (i.e., only ones that I have viewed). However, with this version, I am seeing posts that I have seen as well as new unseen posts. Is there a configuration option that I can set on my profile to make "View new posts" work the old way?

Edit: I noticed if I log out and then log back in the new messages go away. Previously, I could get the same effect by closing the browser and then navigating to the forum. This leads me to suspect that something is different in the way sessions are managed. That may mean that I have to log out and then log in the next time I visit. If so, that is a step backwards.

Forth-ed?

It was working just peachy but a few weeks ago for me, all the posts just started building up even though they weren't "new".
It gets cleared if i log out and back in again as Ralph noted, only takes a second but it's a bit annoying...
