Designed a neat project for the gps module: a 'speed alert' sits on the dash of my car. When selectedspeed is reached, button is pressed and if exceeded that speed then audible and visual alarm so as to not exceed speed limit and not keep looking @ speedo.
Problem is that gps updates at 1 second intervals and dependant on speed many metres can be travelled in 1 second. e.g. lamborgini 0-60 mph in 6 seconds.
Anyway of getting GPVTG updating faster than once/second or am I asking the impossible? or do I buy a slower car.

The basic GPS receivers (read cheap) update at 1Hz. I know there are newer receivers out there that will update more frequently (4Hz, 16Hz) but the price goes up dramatically.
