Firefox is capable of subscribing to RSS feeds and create live bookmarks:

RSS feeds are pretty nice, since you can browse what's new on your favorite sites without: a) waiting for the site to load and b) loading all the images on that site (which is good for the server as well). the XML is also generally smaller than the site's HTML, so that's another boon for the server's bandwidth.
