Hey there.
Looking for a microcontroller that can handle generic USB Gamepad input. I’m currently using a PI to interpret the usb signals but it boots really slow and isn’t running that much code. It’s a bit clunky, unreliable, and slow for what I want.

I know a Teensy can mimic a keyboard, but I’m looking for one that can take input from a usb device / act as a usb host.

I believe the Teensy 3.6 can function as a USB host and PJRC carries a cable for it.
This isn't something we've tried to do before so we're not able to offer any assistance but you could probably find help on the PJRC forum. :-)
