Anyone know of a small pin count, low support component, surface mount, inductor-less IC that will take some input voltage (anything less that 24v) and kick it up to at least 36v @ 5ma ?

Oh, sorry, the advertising image they show says 36V in/out, but I guess they only have 36V in and 30V out...

Glad you found it

ya, i count not find anything that could go this high using caps so i had to settle for the alternative of the ones using coils.

Jim,

In nuts and volts Oct 2006 there was an article about making a boost power supply with a pic. I am boosting 5V to 180V @ ~10mA with my 18F1220 in my nixie project. Its stupid easy using a pic with HPWM. You could easily change the settings (and probably the inductor size) to only boost to 35V.

thanks, unfortunately there is no micro on this board.

There are a DC/DC converters on Fairchild's site, some saying 30V in the description, and since I don't have a PDF viewer on this machine (and can't get one), I can't check the max output.

I'd check there, and they have free samples too.
