Servo trigger switch

Hi,
I am new to this so please be gentle:)
I have Sparkfun servo trigger and running 9v battery so have got 5v regulator.
I know the middle & right pin is soldered to the board power out.
Question is pin 1 do i bend it back and solder positve from the 9v or do i solder to the board also?
Any actual pics of this setup would be very helpful.
