Hi,

unfourtunately I flashed another firmware into the Sparkfun ESP8266 shield and now it doesn't work anymore with the ESP8266 Arduino AT library from Sparkfun. The AT commands are still working, this means I get response "OK" when I hit "AT" in the console. Does anyone of you have the original compiled Firmware for this shield? I found a link on the Sparkfun website to the uncompiled Firmware, but I don't know how to compile this Firmware. Sorry I'm a Newbie :-)

Best Regards
Benjamin

Basically the GPIO0 needs to be grounded to flash the firmware.

GPIO0 Value | ESP8266 Mode
------------------------------
HIGH (3.3V) | Run Program
------------------------------
LOW (0V) | Bootloader

But the ESP8266 shield together with the Arduino is not much fun. This means I load the code directly to the ESP8266, this is much more efficient.
I recommend the ESP8266 Thing or another ESP8266 based Board. For small projects the ESP8266 ESP-01 is very slim and cool in my opinion.

Hi Benjamin

Where did you get this uncompiled Firmware?
I have the same issue but I have no idea where to get the initial Firmware which came with my ESP8266 Wifi Shield.

Kindly could you send me the link please?
Thansk!
