I want to get a 101 kit to learn the basics before I get started with some project ideas, but which one would teach me the most relevant skills given these two future projects I have in mind:

1: Entails logging GPS location information on one device and broadcasting it wirelessly to another device with a range of 50m or so

2: Making my own wireless mouse
