Hello,

Does anyone know if the MOSFET driver board is compatible with the Arduino TIAN??

I have built the unit and attached it to the TIAN. The MOSFETs were working but it smoked the over current protection on the board at the same time so I only ran it for a few seconds.

Expensive little test

Found the issue

The development board connects 12VDC from the PC power supply to the Vin pin. On other Arduino boards, Vin is connected to the input side of the voltage regulator on board and represents the voltage applied at the power supply socket.

The TIAN does not have an external supply socket as it is driven from the 5VDC USB line, hence the Vin pin is connected to the 5VDC rail on the board without a voltage regulator.

When the power was enabled on the MOSFET board, 12VDC was connected to the 5VDC rail which smoked the over current protection circuit taking out the USB host port and effecting the eMMC memory. By removing D1 on the MOSFET board, the 12VDC rail is isolated from the Vin pin which will eliminate this issue.

Might be worth putting a big warning on the product page.
