Been using this GP-20u7 GPS MOdule with 5.09v for the last 6-7 hours!!!!
.... DOES ANYONE HAS DONE THIS ERROR WITHOUT BEING A FATALITY FOR LONGER THAN I HAVE - (NEWBIES - DON'T DO THIS - THIS MODULE WORKS WITH 3.3v ABSOLUTE MAXIMUM)
This is not an "issue" - I've learned a long time ago to respect manufacturers datasheets SPECIALLY the DC ABSOLUTE Maximum Ratings)
******* THE MISTAKE:
.....SIMPLY although I've been using it for couple of weeks with 3.3v (AS IT SHOULD BE - BEWARE NEWBBIES) - and today after having done an UART adpater (with MCP2221) only with 5V (yes it has 3.3v for correct logic also) - I COMPLETLY FORGOT and have been using this GPS Module for the past 6 hours with 5.09V connected to it directly from my USBs computer outuput!......
******** WHY I ASK:
...SINCE.... (lots of times) not having to use a 5 -> 3.3 regulator simplifies our life...
ANY THOUGHTS? (other than it will get burned ;)
