Hi, I am working through the SparkFun Inventor's Kit with some kids and I am confused by he first circuit. I'm sure whatever someone tells me here will help in subsequent circuits too. First, it looks like they are connecting the 5V power to the + row on the breadboard. However, I don't see anything else connected to that row so I don't see where that power is going to. In every circuit I see (in other examples elsewhere), the + is connected to a resistor, and then that goes to the LED and then to ground. However in the SparkFun circuit, I see the 13 pin (which I assume has power?) is connected directly to the LED and then to the resistor. I don't understand that. Can someone please explain how the power is flowing here? I have the kids coming over in a couple hours and I'd like to have a better grasp of this. Thank you!
