I am having trouble getting my ESP8266 Thing Dev Board to operate. I bought this as part of the Microsoft Azure IoT Starter kit with the hope of posting temperature data to Azure and then retrieving it. Unfortunately I have not been successful in getting the board to operate with my WiFi. I searched the Sparkfun website and found the “ESP8266 Thing Development Board Hookup Guide”. I followed the instructions for the Arduino setup and copied the sample “Blink” code. I was successful in getting LED 5 to blink; but my LED 5 is Blue and not Green (is that significant?). I then tried the example sketch to post to Phant. LED 5 would never turn solid. It blinks when the sketch is loaded but then turns off. Is there another method (or tutorial) that I can use to verify that my ESP8266 is working with mi WiFi?

Thank you.
