Hey, I'm trying to build a set of bluetooth shoes.

The idea is to build into a pair of cheap shoes (with thick soles) a sensor that sends it's capacitance via bluetooth to an arduino board.

I'm thinking of the following capacitance sensor:

but I'm a little lost on what to get for the bluetooth part.

I want to ideally have the arduino act as the brains of the operation, and just want to have (if possible) the capacitance sensor and a bluetooth modem built into the shoe.

Any suggestions on how to best accomplish this?

Thanks for any help!

no idea myself but I was actually trying to think up a way to put pressure plates or the like into a pair of shoes to generate small amounts of power I could store in a CAP that could put out a burst of charge into a charging circuit to power up some LiPos in a portable project.

I don't really know of any links, but you could always try a strain gauge of some sort rather than capacitance sensor. Then all you'd need in addition to the gauge would be a micro with an ADC since the strain gauge is based on resistance.
