I've got the Lidarlite v2 hooked up to an Arduino for my project, and I intend to put it outside unattended. I'm at the stage where I need to think about how to protect the system from the environment for long periods of time.

So, what kind of enclosure would be good for the Lidarlite v2? Does it handle moisture and heat already? Obviously, the Arduino and electronics will be fully enclosed, but I wasn't sure if I could/should put the Lidarlite sensor in the same enclosure with only the lenses sticking out.

Should I place it behind some glass to protect it while still providing visibility for the sensor? Are there limitations on the glass I can use? What if I wanted to hide it behind a one-way mirror? I assume that won't work because we need to receive the bounced light signal, but I might want to use some darker glass if possible.

I've searched the forums and there are many questions about how to communicate or use the Lidarlite, but few about putting it into a real environment.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Al
