Multiple Ardumoto Shields

I need to power and control 6 motors to start and stop and control speed. Each motor is 3V DC and has a MAX current draw of 350mA.

Can I use 3 Ardumoto Shields to do this in one project. How many Arduino controllers are reqd if it can be done.

The Ardumoto Shield has hard-wired direction and PWM lines. In order to use more than one, you would have to cut traces and add patch wires to the PCB.
