I recently purchased an EL Sequencer for a EL Wire Suit project that I am making over the summer. The problem is that I have been unable to load any code onto my EL Sequencer and I have no idea why.

I am running a PC with Windows 8.1 64-bit and Arduino 1.6.5. I am using a 5V FTDI cable to connect the sequencer to my computer via USB. Every time I attempt to upload code, I get the "avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding" error.

I'm not sure whether or not there is a problem with the bootloader or it is something else causing the issue. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Google that error and start trying the solutions they post. That error is very broad so there is no one thing that can solve it.

First you need to make sure that the board and COM port selections are correct and go from there.
