can a motion sensor module be used to turn on and off a Wav trigger module?

In theory, yes! In practise, it depends on the details of which ones you have.

I want to use the Wav trigger available on Sparkfun. Model# WIG-12897.

I was more concerned about which kind of motion sensor you had in mind. The are many kinds.

Which one would you suggest I use? Only requirement is that it be as small as possible.

Also some advice as to how it links and hooks up.

I can't give that. You never explained what sort of motion it is. Or what moves. You realy need to tell more details of what you want and where and with what it will be used.

Besides that, my only source of internet is through my mobile phone now, due to a lightning strike killing my modem. And I hate 'key hole'-viewing of my browser. So I can't help much further.
