The tutorial is very clear and deserves more careful study than you have given it.

The RAW pin is for powering the Pro Micro by an unregulated supply. The Vcc pin is power out from the Pro Micro voltage regulator. It is possible to use the VCC pin for well regulated power in if you do not supply voltage > 6V to the RAW pin, and are not powering via the USB connection, but in doing so, there is a small chance that the regulator will be damaged.

I see it there, "If the board is powered through the ‘RAW’ pin (or USB), this pin can be used as an output to supply other devices.". Your right, I should have read it. Should also have OUT on the image too for Vcc.
