I recently acquired four Redboard Arduinos and 4 MP3 player shields for a project. I can go through the sparkfun hookup guide with the genuine Arduino UNO board and run the "File Player" demo from the MP3 shield library just fine. When I switch over to the sparkfun Redboard and try to load the same source code I get the following error.

"avrdude: verification error, first mismatch at byte 0x7800
0xf9 != 0xff
avrdude: verification error; content mismatch"

Normally I think this would be a bootloader problem but I can upload other programs just fine... I have now opened/tried two more Red Boards right out of the package to no avail. Is it possible that the library is causing this somehow? I have a pretty big investment in the 4 Redboards about would like to use them as advertised as Uno equivalents.

Check the COM port, and board selection. All 4 Redboards and the Arduino are going to have different COM ports.
