Sorry for my ignorance but I am new to this, and as I was having a look at the new Intel Edison board I was wondering where are the pins? I'm use to only using an Arduino. Do you need to buy an Edison breakout board and then just solder wires to those holes?

The pins are on the underside, using a 70-pin connector. If you look at the Console Block, for example https://www.sparkfun.com/products/13039, the Edison connects to that.

You can buy a block that connects and breaks out the GPIO pins here https://www.sparkfun.com/products/13039. You can connect to the output pins through headers or wires connected to the GPIO block.

I recommend watching the product video with the Edison and Blocks to get a better look and feel for what the Edison does and how it works. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GY8kaaFzbTE
