Hello

I'm looking to make a standalone DC powered USB 3.0 hub with an output of 1A per port to use as an iPad charger.

3 or 4 USB-A ports on a hub/stick to be mounted on a charging stand made on the SparkFun's partner site Ponoko.

I don't know squat about electronics so I would need all the components and hope there is a snap together version since I don't solder.

There's really not a lot available as 'snap together', especially when you're talking about 3-4 A of supply current.
