I have a hobby project I'm working up a design for that involves powering a standard light bulb via an Arduino micro controller such as the UNO or perhaps the micro in conjunction with a Blue SMiRF. Essentially I think I have everything accounted for except for how I'm going to power the micro controller from the same power source as is used to power the light bulb which is going to be a standard 110 VAC wall socket. Is there a way to splice in 9V of power via a switched mode supply onto the cable that is to power the light bulb? Is there maybe an alternative? I would really not want to use battery power just for the micro controller since that would amount to an inconvenience to the end user if I decided ever to go forth and be so bold as to install something like this. Thank you all in advance for any input...
