yeah, that's the same place I got the picture from. They don't sell them. Just the LCD's.

I guess what I was getting at is that it looks like these pins are designed to be epoxed directly to the glass. This seems to mean that they are epoxied to the COG contact leaving the user with a DIP style pin to proto with. I don't think this is really something for the hobby level. It looks like it is more at the point of LCD manufacture or assembly.

I can't imagine a situation where gluing these clips to an lcd benefits you at all.

I wanted to mount dollar store lcd's so that they would be easy for my to put into my projects. My projects are usually one-of's and I can't find lcd's that are really small on Digikey or Mouser. The 2x16 lcd's are bigger than I'd like to use. The dollar store ones usually come with the conductive rubber stuff, but you have to compress it against the pcb to get a good connection. Pins would be easier.
