Hey all,
What i'm interested in knowing is if BOB-09118 can be used to control the ON/OFF of the power to my 12v DC Electric Door Strike?
If so how do I go about wiring it, as this is the part I am unsure of.
To sum up what my project does is,
RFID reader sends the card number to my Arduino Uno which then checks it against the list of known cards, then the Arduino sends a OFF signal to the Strike which requires power to stay locked, as cutting power to the strike unlocks the door.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What are the specifications of the door strike? Specifically, the amperage ratings.
I'm not sure if that board can support the voltage of a solenoid, like what'd be in the door strike.

This board provide only 1.2mA at 12V (because of 10k resistors).

So you need a mosfet http://www.sparkfun.com/products/10213 in addition to optoisolator. But this mosfet can only have 10V max at gate so you'll need something like a resistor to lower voltage before feeding it to gate.
